South Delhi shooting: Man critical after assailants fire 10 rounds at SUV in Chhatarpur | Delhi News

NEW DELHI: A man was critically injured after unidentified assailants opened fire on him in South Delhi’s Chhatarpur area on Thursday afternoon, police said.The incident took place around 1pm near CDR Chowk, under the jurisdiction of Mehrauli Police Station. The victim, identified as Arun Lohia, a resident of Aya Nagar was found inside an SUV with multiple gunshot wounds.Police said initial investigations indicate that up to 10 rounds may have been fired. The motive is suspected to be personal enmity, with both the victim and the suspected attackers reportedly belonging to the same village.“It appears to be a case of personal enmity. We have learned that there is a previous history involving both parties,” a senior police officer said.According to police sources, Lohia had past disputes with individuals believed to be involved in the attack. The assailants are suspected to be known to him.Lohia was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The crime scene has been cordoned off, and CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed to trace the suspects and reconstruct the sequence of events.A case is being registered under relevant sections of the BNS and the Arms Act. Police said multiple teams have been formed to identify and apprehend the attackers.
