Driver decamps with west Delhi employer’s Rs 30 lakh cash, arrested in Bhuj | Delhi News



New Delhi: A 27-year-old driver has been arrested in Gujarat for allegedly decamping with Rs 30 lakh belonging to his employer, a businessman based in west Delhi’s Tilak Nagar. The accused had been employed for only six months before committing the theft.According to police, the businessman reported on May 15 that his driver had gone missing with a bag containing Rs 30 lakh in cash intended for a business transaction. A case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation was launched.“A dedicated police team was constituted, which reviewed CCTV footage and conducted multiple raids at suspected hideouts across Delhi. Using a combination of technical surveillance and local intelligence, the accused was traced to Bhuj in Gujarat,” said DCP (west) Vichitra Veer.The accused, identified as Prince, was apprehended by the police team dispatched to Gujarat. At the time of arrest, officers recovered Rs 25.95 lakh in cash, two gold rings, an earring, and a mobile phone—items allegedly purchased using the stolen money.He is currently in police custody, and further investigations are ongoing to determine if any accomplices were involved.
