Atishi Flags Water Shortage, BJP Denies Crisis

New Delhi: Leader of opposition in the Delhi assembly, Atishi, has written to chief minister Rekha Gupta alleging a growing water shortage in the city and requested a meeting with AAP MLAs to discuss the issue.Atishi claimed residents were “distressed” due to the lack of water and criticised the govt for not having a concrete plan or relief measures in place.“All MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party wish to meet you at your convenience so they can personally present the various water-related problems being faced by citizens across Delhi,” Atishi wrote in her letter.Meanwhile, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva accused AAP of spreading “falsehood” about a water crisis. “It is the last week of May, and despite peak summer heat, there is no widespread talk of a crisis. This is because the Delhi govt has implemented a summer action plan, improved water distribution, and installed GPS on tankers,” he said, adding, “We’re not saying there’s no shortage, but there is no crisis.”
