BSP chief Mayawati exits Lutyens’ house, seeks bigger bungalow
Mayawati, the BSP chief, has vacated her official bungalow in Lutyens’ Delhi, which was allotted to her as a national party president. Sources indicate she had requested a larger residence based on entitlement norms.

NEW DELHI: BSP chief Mayawati has vacated her official bungalow in Lutyens’ Delhi, which was allotted to her as the president of a national party. Sources said she had sought a bigger bungalow in accordance with entitlement norms, though the chance of getting a new allotment hinged on BSP’s status as a national party after recent poll performances.Sources in the housing and urban affairs ministry said she vacated the house last week. PTI, quoting a BSP neta, said the former UP CM had left her govt accommodation at 35, Lodhi Estate and had shifted to her private bungalow on Sardar Patel Marg. The president of a national party is entitled to a central govt bungalow. She was, hence, allotted the Lodhi Estate bungalow by directorate of estates.
