Russia Threatens West After Fresh Military Aid For Ukraine

Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov warned that Moscow may resort to “stronger military means” in Ukraine if further provoked. In an interview with CNN, Ryabkov described growing geopolitical risks, comparing current tensions to the height of the Cold War. He criticized the U.S. and the West for lacking common sense and restraint. Ryabkov emphasized that while military escalation is not immediate, the trend is clear. He also mentioned Russia’s potential use of the “Oreshnik” ballistic missile against Ukraine. Meanwhile, U.S. President Joe Biden announced a $725 million security package for Ukraine, as Washington prepares to release nearly $7 billion in military aid.
