India intercepts Pakistan missiles, drones in Jammu: What we know so far

NEW DELHI: India’s air defence guns on Thursday evening responded immediately after Pakistan launched loitering munitions targeting multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir, including Jammu city’s airport. This came amid India’s ongoing ‘Operation Sindoor‘ against Pakistan-backed terrorism.

Here’s what we know so far

  • Sirens were heard across the region as defence forces intercepted the incoming threats and returned fire.
  • Pakistan targeted Jammu city’s airport in its attack.
  • Amid strong sound of sirens, a complete blackout was enforced in Jammu.
  • Complete blackout also enforced in Punjab’s Amritsar amid firing by Pakistan in J&K.
  • Internet services have also been suspended across Jammu and Kashmir, after complete blackout.
  • Centre orders 100% pre-boarding checks for all flyers at all airports.
  • According to defence sources, Pakistan launched 8 missiles in Jammu region, including at Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia sector, all of which were intercepted by Indian Air Defence.
